As I begin writing this post the word crudites came to mind – and I had to double check myself and google it. Am I using the right word? And then, how to pronounce it? Seems it is very much the right word – and when you make this Blue Cheese Dip and surround it with vegetables and take it to a friends, you MUST pronounce it correctly with your head held high. We are FANCY.

(A crudités platter (pronounced crew-de-teh) is another name for a vegetable platter)

Where did this recipe come from?

There are a couple of stories and recipes intermingled here…. 1). I was going to a friend’s house – and they are in fact fancy people – and I wanted to take something to munch on so I didn’t get too tipsy as it was a happy hour. 2) I have a super duper secret recipe for Blue Cheese Salad Dressing from a friend’s Aunt and was sworn to secrecy. (And trust me, I was sworn to secrecy way back when this blog was still in the dreaming stage…) Anyhow, I have been known to dip my carrots and other veg into the salad dressing when it’s in the fridge (as a snack) so that’s what gave me the idea. 3) I went out to the recipe box in the sky and googled blue cheese dip and compared and contrasted a couple of recipes and came up with this one. It was a winner.

See my way of storing my super fancy recipes:

No never mind I have no idea how to spell Worcestershire and I almost forgot to write down the garlic. But #KeepingItReal – at least I wrote it down. Now you see why this blog is going to help me too?! You should see the pile of recipes I have – torn from this mag or that – all just ideas and concepts ready and waiting to be made into a new and improved creation – if only I take notes !

But I don’t like Blue Cheese…

One of my other friends, who is also rather fancy, says she doesn’t LIKE blue cheese. And then I fed her dinner salad (steak / above mentioned blue cheese dressing) and she tore through that salad… Then I gave her pizza – with Gorgonzola on it – and she really enjoyed that pizza – what kind of cheese is on here, she asks ?

She persists in the fact that she doesn’t like Blue Cheese – unless she’s at my house and somehow I make it yummy? Like I have a yummy food wand or something ? While that is super flattering, I think she must not have had good blue cheese before ?!?!

If you want to make this and you are not yet familiar with GOOD blue cheese – spend a few minutes and get yourself to a store with a cheese counter where someone is there to talk to and you can ask for a blue cheese that isn’t too strong or some gorgonzola that would go nicely in a dip.

Also good with Hot Wings ?!

What is a buffalo hot wing without a nice tangy blue cheese dip ? Nothing. It is nothing! Don’t forget to make yourself some yummy blue cheese dip if you are making yourself some wings !

Blue Cheese Dip for Crudites or Chicken Wings !

This dip is super easy and really quick to pull together – you probably have most items on hand – so just grab a piece of blue cheese or gorgonzola next time you are at the grocery! Obviously the better the cheese, the better the dip. Serve with vegetables or Chicken wings – or both !
