Dear readers, as I embarked on my long weekend and started gathering some of my most favorite kitchen tools I thought to myself I should share my secrets so that others may have an equally good long weekend….assuming of course you are gifted with the day off to celebrate MLK holiday. So get yourself ready for a PERFECT Margarita!
The PERFECT Margarita
The best, easiest, most delicious margarita ever. Yes, ever.
Equipment
- First – you need a nifty shot glass that helps you with measurements and importantly this one – goes to 3 oz. Get your self one – you will never regret it.
- Second you need a handy dandy shaker that has a strainer. Definitely go with a metal one – the glass ones tend to get stuck – and we’ve had a lot of luck with this metal one. And for this -you should be prepared to replace this eventually due to pitting – due to acid…
- Thirdly – a good strong and steady fruit squeezer – we use this one for both lemons and limes. We have gone through a few – powder coated metal – etc. Just get yourself a metal one and acknowledge it will eventually pit out from all the acid in the juice. They are not expensive and you will get more than your money’s worth before it needs to be replaced.
Ingredients
- 3 oz Tequila Our golf club sells grilled pineapple and jalapeno infused tequila. It's beyond delicious. Choose your tequila carefully !
- 2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz Agave
Instructions
- Get your equipment ready !
- The more of these you drink, the more important it is that your shot measuring glass goes to 3 oz. Get yo-self a glass like this !
- Juice your limes. Get a Big Ol' Bag of limes at your local discount grocery. Juice a bunch – and I mean a bunch. You don't strike me as the kind to drink alone, so I know you have friends over.
- Put some ice into the shaker.
- Mix the best margarita in the world in proportions above. Normally I make two margs per shaker-full. Repeat after me. 3 oz tequila, 2 oz FRESH lime juice, 1 oz (or less) Agave. Shake Shake Shake.
- Use the strainer or somehow get the concoction into your glass. Cheers your friends and have a fun night.
Notes
Lastly – frugal gurl here. this margarita cost like $2.50 – when I know many of us who would gladly suck down 3-4 of these out in a night paying $12 happily. That’s a savings of ~$30 so get yo-self some proper tools and have a margarita in. #WhyEatOut
